Car
A feminine way a car maybe represented is by using a husband and wife with their kids going on a family day out. A way to challenge this stereotype would be by using a woman in a suit driving a masculine car to work.
Bottled Beer
A feminine way to advertise beer could be by having a woman and her friends having fun at a party/on the beach/club ect, or by using a pregnant woman to advertise alcohol in a bad way to show that woman shouldn't drink when they are pregnant.

Trainers
A woman could be used to advertise trainers by showing a woman jogging/working out in the gym/using a exercise DVD or by showing a woman walking to work and back with ‘comfortable’ trainers on.
An IPod
A feminine way to advertise an iPod would be to have a cartoon lady dancing with her iPod playing or a teenage girl could advertise and iPod showing road safety; as the teenage girl would be laying on the ground as if she had been knocked over by listening to her iPod when crossing the road.
Deodorant
To advertise deodorant in a feminine Way would be to have a lady just coming out of a shower then she puts on deodorant or a man putting on deodorant then a the women chase after him.
Cigarettes
A feminine way to advertise cigarettes would be to have a woman smoking and her child complaining that their scared that their mum is going to get ill or die.

What is the purpose of advertising?
Advertising is used to help sell and promote a product. Also to show what days and times programmes are on TV.

Name 3 recent advertising campaigns that have grabbed your attention. What in particular interested you?
The ‘dell laptop advert interests me because I find the music catchy. I like the trailer of the new ‘paranormal activity 2’ because I never get bored of it. I like the milk ‘yeo valley’ advert that comes on after xfactor, as I like the rap in that advert because it is funny and catchy.

Did you purchase the product? If not, have you ever bought a product because you have seen the advert?
No, I have never bought a product because of the advert, but I have watched a film because I saw the trailer.

I think this advert shows a positive representation because it shows that men do care about their children just like women do.
I think this advert challenges stereotypes because usually you would see a woman doing the washing and looking after the baby but in this advert the man is being cuddly with the baby.
The advert persuades people to buy the product as the man is wearing a blue shirt which could represent freshness and pureness so the clothes will smell nice. Also the advert is cute because the baby is playing with their dad.
I think the overall message of this advert is showing if you buy this product then your washing will smell nice and fresh.

The product I am analysing is a fragrance by Britney spears.
The target audience for this product is women from ages 18-24.the needs that are being targeted of this product would be self esteem as it gives women the attitude to feel good about themselves.
The setting of this advert is calm; the lighting from the moon creates this effect. Britney is in a lake and it looks like the wind is blowing on her, as her hair is swaying. The moon in the setting looks unrealistic as the lighting is too bright.
The costume Britney is wearing in this advert makes her look womanly. The image has been constructed to attract the target audience by Britney facing away from the audience but looking back with her arms stretched back as if she is saying ‘come follow me’. Also the image is airbrushed witch makes her look pretty; this could make people think ‘if I buy this product I will look pretty too’.
The celebrity being used to promote this perfume doesn’t fit into any stereotype I just get the impression of Britney being very gentle and feminine.
A mid-shot has been used so we can focus only on the character in the image.
This product looks like it would smell musty and strong.
This product has a slogan ‘a new fragrance’ this gives off the effect that every perfume Britney brings out is special or ‘exclusive’.
